Chevening scholarship is an opportunity for dynamic young leaders from across the world especially from developing countries to pursue one-year master’s degrees in the United Kingdom.
These scholarships are fully funded which includes academic fees, accommodation, and flight costs. Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and partner organizations, United Kingdom provide funds for the scholarship.

Benefits of Chevening Scholarship:
- Full tuition fees (For MBA, the upper cap is GBP 18,000)

Eligibility Criteria:
- Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country or territory
- Return to your country of citizenship after your award has ended and this is for a minimum of two years
- Candidates must have obtained an undergraduate degree. It should be equivalent to an upper second-class 2:1 honor degree in the United Kingdom
- Should have at least two years (equivalent to 2,800 hours) of work experience (Detailed about the work experience criteria Work experience | Chevening)
- Should have at least one unconditional offer letter from one of the three choices that a candidate has applied Courses | Chevening
Important Actions to Start:
English language proficiency is a mandatory requirement at the time you lodge your application. So, complete an English language proficiency test. The language requirement may be different for different universities.
Apply to three of the courses/universities of your interest (Before applying to the university, please check either you meet the eligibility criteria defined by the university for the course that you are opting for or not)
How to Apply:
In order to apply for the Chevening scholarship, the first step is to create an account on the given application portal SmartSimple.

- It is not compulsory to complete the application in one go. So you can take time, prepare details offline, and fill-up the form.
- Once the application is submitted, the independent reading committee assess all eligible applications which are passed to British Embassy/High Commission
- Before the interview, there is a window to submit two references and education documents

- Results are declared in June and candidates should submit at least one unconditional UK university offer by mid-July.
